The Culture of Bihar
Bihar has an image of a state of poor, uneducated, underdeveloped and labor class folks within India, despite of the fact that Bihar makes the maximum number of IAS and IPS in the country. However, the qualified people from Bihar get much love and respect within and outside India. This article shades light on the culture of Bihar especially when we compare them with developed countries. Our perspective on gathering cultural facts is from an NRI who have seen the lowest of Bihar and the Highest of London and New York in their lives. People of Bihar are in general full of love, meritorious, serious of nature and sensitive. The society of Bihar is divided in two classes: rich and poor. Caste is very much dominating factor in Bihar.
People of Bihar are in general emotional, sensitive and religious. They will almost never be on time and will not keep their promises. They will lie easily and you will need to run behind them for getting their promises fulfilled. Bluffing and showing-off is an old culture. They don't know law and do not even want to know. Asking and giving bribes for almost everyhting is a pathetic culture. Police, Court and Officers nobody works without bribes but most of them will not work even after paying bribes. Complaint doesn't help at all because the chief ministers in recent times including Nitish Kumar are indispicably currupt, reckless and opportunist.
The People of Bihar
People in Bihar, when it comes to social life, they are very generous, welcoming and helpful to own people. But they are often angry, arrogant and inimical to others whom they don't know. the fol of Bihar is divided in to 2 classes:
- Upper & Middle class
- Poor Class
Both classes hate each other but they need together and therefore live together in society. The upper class has been ruling the poor however poor are not any more weak and now bluntly confront the upper class and sometimes rule them reversly for their revenge. This year’s firings are especially noteworthy, too. One man, Ed Orgeron, led his team to the national championship less than two years ago. Another, Clay Helton, coached his program in a conference championship game last year.
A large number of women are still sitting at home making gossips and pickels and infamous for watching only TV's, because people still treat the women and children their property. They believe women are only to make home and children. However in recent times up to 10% women are well educated and self-dependant too. But Educated doesn't mean that they all possess the knowledge too. Mostly their is no connection between degrees and knowledge. Everybody thinks to know little English but making one sentence correctly is hard work here. We saw the court judgments full of grammatical errors and advocates can't converse in English. People also avoid longer conversations as they have less ability to speak. However people have rich vocabulary of abusive words and they use them also carefree.
The Religions of Bihar
As long as people remind uneducated or less educated they will depend on God and blame their failures also to God. Unlike Westerners people are not religious by choice but by needs. They need religion for their culture and God for their jobs, exams, money, business and illnesses. We saw seldom someone who worships for his spiritual well-being. Because people are less educated they are too much in blind faith, black-magic and festivals. They are conservatives and can close their business too for religious occasions. Do not expect that your workers will come to work even he will not inform you either. People are generally hypocrites in religion. They can spend lakhs on their arrogant functions but will not even help you in needs or do any significant charity.
The Politics of Bihar
The Politics of Bihar is extremely dirty. Most politicians are necessarily criminals and have many crimes on their heads. Most of them are undereducated or illiterate. Bihar is in recent times not known for some brilliant politicians while Bihar had produced the First President of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad and many more scholars. Being criminal, rich and influential is the benchmark of being politician. The people of Bihar, everyone, tend to be Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton. At every chowk of their villages, they can discuss from the house of neighbors to the war technics of Putin but they are easily fooled by middleschool failed politicians. This because people are ground with hypocrite society where the theory of saying and the practical of doing never meet together. Politicians bluff almost every time without intending to do what they say.
Lalu Yadav and his uneducated wife Rabri Devi has been the worst examples of corruption, bribes and chaos though. The present chief minister Nitish Kumar has only and always greed of political chair and has nothing to do with politics and people. He has shown 9 times that he can't be loyal to anyone and therefore he is called Palatooram. He is not only corrupt but he sponsors and protects corruption. We sent 2 times the evidence of extortion of bribes in 2023 but he and his DGP both ignored that and harassed the complainants. Bihar is wholly shrunk in corruption and can't get clean even in coming 200 years.
The Administration of Bihar
The administration is slow, lazy, chaotic and corrupt. Nothing works without bribe but now a days they also don't work after extorting bribes. The police doesn't register FIR without money but also not after collecting money. It takes money also from accused for not to arrest. Police maintains same degree of friendship with accused too. When you are by chance NRI they will ask 10 times more bribes but still not do anything. when you complain, they will even spoil your work and harras you. They are only keen to register FIR's for violating excise law as everybody wants to drink and when caught they charge easy bribes. Police will want you to add guns, rapes and theft in the FIR to get your FIR registered. Other sections of CrPC are not well known to them nor they take them seriously. the police has proved to be never trustworthy as they can conspire anything against anyone. The court has also pathetic situation as nothing works according to the system. Things do not go timely. Court orders are often not given to parties and court staffs charge Rs. 300 to Rs. 2000 for getting them, even then the court orders are not given. Not all cases are updated on the website. The court orders are not respected by the Police. Advocates will take your money and will not work on time in many case. They are often incompetent and you can't depend of them. However we saw in Patna High court the judges actively and honestly handling the cases. They need to check for example Muzaffarpur. The courts are not even keen to start a com=ntempt procedure when people failed several time to comply with court orders.
